About Stephanie:
I’m a mom, artist and teacher with a wide range of instructional experience in the secondary classroom. I have taught all levels of drawing/painting, pottery and studio art in Southern Idaho for the past eight years.
Although I love experimenting with new mediums, I most enjoy working with clay, especially thrown forms. I also enjoy interior design and construction. My husband and I have built three homes together in Southern Idaho, and I love the process of choosing materials to create an overall cohesive aesthetic. When I’m not in the classroom or working on home projects, I love to travel with my family, watch my daughters at their sporting/music events, and play volleyball. I’m a lover of summer, tacos, board games, and a good binge-worthy crime drama.
I attended Brigham Young University-Idaho, majoring in Art Education with a minor in Journalism Education and recently completed AP Art Certification. I have industry experience working for both an online photo card company and a brick and mortar stationery shop in downtown Seattle prior to teaching. With my background in Journalism and my experience in graphic design, my most recent passion has been transforming the yearbook program at my previous school into one that consistently produces nationally-recognized, award-winning yearbooks.
I have a passion for bringing real-world experiences into the classroom, and I know the importance of providing my students with opportunities to connect with and explore future careers and get involved in their community. I’m beyond excited to be a part of UAA. I see the vision of helping our students become creators, collaborators, and innovators, and I can’t wait to be a part of it all.
