Getting under the hood of creativity – where the lines between inventiveness and technical proficiency are blurred – that’s where a lot of really great art is. Building skills that augment creativity will serve us our whole lives.

North Star:

The common thread of successful artists in the music industry is range – demonstrating width and breadth in all aspects of the industry from practice room to the stage and from writing to royalties. Getting under the hood of creativity – where the lines between inventiveness and technical proficiency are blurred – that’s where a lot of my heroes excel. Artists such as Rick Beato, Chris Thile, Béla Fleck, Bob Clearmountain, Stevie Wonder, and Gabe Dixon serve as north-stars for our Commercial Music program.

Capitol Records Recording Artist, Stone Angel Music Recording Artist, Shadow Mountain Recording Artist, more than 163 million streams, educator at Dixie State University and Southern Utah University, international touring musician, studio musician, and producer/engineer, with placements on networks such as NBC, TLC, Nat. Geo, Animal Planet, the History Channel, and more.
